Safety First, Always
Safety Is Our Foundation
At C&C Marine and Repair, safety is not a program — it is a core value embedded in every process, every decision, and every person at our shipyard.
Our Commitment
Safety Is Embedded in Everything We Do
At C&C Marine and Repair, we believe that no job is so urgent and no schedule is so tight that it cannot be done safely. Every vessel we build, every repair we complete, and every surface we blast and paint is executed with safety as the first and non-negotiable priority.
Our safety culture starts at the top. Leadership demonstrates through daily action that safety is a value, not a cost. From the front office to the production floor, every employee is empowered and expected to stop work if they observe an unsafe condition — without fear of reprisal.
This commitment shows in our results. Our safety record reflects the hundreds of thousands of man-hours our team has worked under our comprehensive safety management system. We do not simply comply with regulations — we strive to exceed them at every opportunity.

“Every worker goes home safe — that is the only acceptable outcome.”
C&C Marine Safety Philosophy
Safety Performance
Measuring What Matters
We track safety performance rigorously because what gets measured gets managed. These metrics reflect our unwavering commitment to protecting our people.
Dedicated full-time safety professionals managing and overseeing all safety operations across the shipyard.
Every employee completes comprehensive safety training before starting any work.
Every vehicle and piece of mobile equipment is inspected daily before use to ensure safe operation.
Regular monthly safety briefings keep the entire workforce informed on procedures, updates, and lessons learned.
Safety Programs
Comprehensive Safety Management
Our safety management system covers every hazard in the shipyard environment through specialized programs, procedures, and training.
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
Before every task, a formal Job Safety Analysis (JSA) identifies potential hazards and establishes controls. Workers are empowered and expected to stop work if they identify an unsafe condition — no exceptions.
Confined Space Entry Program
Rigorous confined space entry procedures include atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, rescue plans, and trained attendants. Every confined space entry is permitted and supervised by qualified safety personnel.
Hot Work & Fire Prevention
Welding, cutting, and grinding operations follow strict hot work permit procedures. Fire watches, fire suppression equipment staging, and combustible material clearance are mandatory for every hot work operation.
Fall Protection Program
Comprehensive fall protection protocols cover every elevated work situation. Personal fall arrest systems, guardrails, safety nets, and controlled access zones are engineered and inspected for every job at height.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Energy isolation procedures protect workers from unexpected energization during maintenance and construction activities. Every energy source — electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic — is identified, isolated, and verified before work begins.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Appropriate PPE is required and provided for every task. From basic hard hats and safety glasses to specialized respiratory protection and arc flash gear, every worker is properly protected for their specific work environment.
Environmental Stewardship
Protecting Our Environment
Operating on the waterways of Louisiana, we take our environmental responsibility seriously. Our indoor facilities and environmental management systems minimize our impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
Air Quality Management
Our indoor blast facility captures and filters airborne particulates, preventing emissions to the atmosphere. Welding fume extraction systems and paint booth ventilation maintain air quality for workers and the surrounding environment.
Indoor Operations
Our indoor blast facility and enclosed construction bays contain particulates, fumes, and overspray that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. Climate-controlled facilities recapture spent abrasive media for recycling and contain all coating overspray.
Waste Management & Recycling
Spent abrasive media, waste coatings, and hazardous materials are managed through licensed waste haulers. Steel scrap is recycled. Waste minimization programs reduce overall waste generation.
Integrated Safety
Safety in Every Process
Safety is not a separate function — it is woven into every step of our operations.
Engineering
Safety reviews are integrated into design, ensuring constructability and safe access are built into vessel plans from day one.
Production
Pre-task planning, JSAs, and daily toolbox meetings ensure hazards are identified and controlled before work begins.
Blast & Paint
Robotic blasting removes workers from the blast zone. Climate control and ventilation protect air quality.
Launch & Delivery
Detailed launch plans, transporter procedures, and vessel movement protocols ensure safe operations through delivery.
