Dredging Support Vessels
C&C Marine and Repair constructs the full range of support vessels that keep dredging operations running efficiently — from MultiCats and booster barges to idler barges and anchor barges.
Dredging Support
Complete Dredging Fleet Solutions
A dredge is only as productive as its support fleet. C&C Marine builds the vessels that keep dredging operations moving — supporting pipeline runs, extending discharge distances, handling anchors, and performing general support duties.
As the builder of the 4 largest cutter suction dredges in the United States, C&C Marine understands the full scope of equipment needed for a successful dredging operation. Our dredging support vessels are built with the same quality standards, indoor construction processes, and onsite engineering expertise as our flagship CSD programs.
Whether you need a MultiCat for anchor handling, a booster barge to extend your discharge range, or idler barges to support your pipeline, we can build it on time and on budget.

Vessel Types
Dredging Support Vessels We Build
C&C Marine constructs a full range of dredging support vessels, each designed to work seamlessly with major dredging operations.

MultiCats
MultiCats are versatile workboats used extensively in dredging operations for anchor handling, buoy laying, survey work, and general support duties. C&C Marine has built MultiCats for Callan Marine and has additional units available on speculation for operators looking to expand their dredging support fleet.
- 2 MultiCats delivered to Callan Marine
- 2 additional MultiCats built on speculation
- Versatile deck layout for multiple mission profiles
- Heavy-duty winch and crane systems
- Designed for shallow-draft dredging support

Idler Barges
Idler barges serve as critical floating platforms in dredging operations, supporting the discharge pipeline between the dredge and the shore disposal site. These barges carry sections of pipeline and provide buoyancy across open water spans, keeping the dredge discharge line properly aligned and above water.
- Pipeline support and routing across open water
- Heavy-duty deck for pipeline sections and equipment
- Designed for positioning in currents and tidal conditions
- Custom lengths and configurations available
- Ballast systems for stability management

Booster Barges
Booster barges house additional pump stations that extend the discharge distance of cutter suction dredges. When the dredge site is far from the disposal area, booster pumps mounted on these barges increase pipeline pressure to maintain production rates over long distances. C&C Marine has built booster barges for Weeks Marine and other major dredging contractors.
- Booster barge built for Weeks Marine
- High-capacity booster pump mounting systems
- Engine room and fuel storage configurations
- Pipeline connection and alignment systems
- Designed for extended discharge distances

Anchor Barges
Anchor barges support dredge positioning by carrying and deploying the anchor systems that hold the dredge in position during operations. These specialized barges handle heavy anchors, wire rope, and positioning equipment essential for maintaining the dredge on its cut pattern.
- Heavy-duty anchor handling equipment
- Wire rope storage and deployment systems
- Reinforced deck for anchor and winch loads
- Custom configurations for specific dredge types
- Built for demanding marine environments
