Cutter Suction Dredge Construction
C&C Marine and Repair is the builder of the 4 largest cutter suction dredges in the United States. Our purpose-built CSDs deliver industry-leading production rates with patent-pending interchangeable dredge head technology.
America's CSD Builder
Builder of the 4 Largest CSDs in the USA
C&C Marine has established itself as the nation's premier builder of large cutter suction dredges, delivering the most powerful and productive CSDs operating on American waterways.
From the 23,269 HP J.S. Chatry to the 24,000 HP General Arnold, C&C Marine has built a fleet of CSDs that set the standard for dredging performance in the United States. Each dredge is custom-engineered at our Belle Chasse, Louisiana shipyard with integrated onsite engineering, indoor construction bays, and automated panel lines for consistent quality.
Our experience building the largest and most complex dredges in the country means we understand the unique challenges of dredge construction — from massive hull structures and heavy machinery installations to complex piping systems and electrical integration.

Interchangeable Dredge Heads
C&C Marine has developed a patent-pending interchangeable dredge head system that converts a cutter suction dredge into a dustpan dredge — and back — by simply swapping the head.
This innovation gives dredge operators unprecedented mission flexibility from a single asset. Use the cutterhead for hard materials like rock, clay, and compacted sediment, then swap to the dustpan head for soft sediment and sand — all without returning to the shipyard.
The result is significant cost savings: one dredge that can handle multiple mission profiles, reducing the need to mobilize separate vessels for different material types.
